Since 2015 Backyard Rule been dedicated to building teamwork, promoting sportsmanship, and sharing our love for the game while teaching fundamental skills for Baseball and Softball. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve St. Johns County, FL and the surrounding areas to offer after-school programs, summer camps, and other exciting events that are open to a wide range of ages and ability!

We only use lightweight bats and balls, so participants do not need to bring any bats, gloves, helmets, or equipment of their own. These softer playing materials help us increase safety measures while our students learn proper fielding, throwing, and hitting techniques. Our programs make a fantastic introduction to the game of Baseball/Softball, and is also a skill-sharpening experience for more seasoned ballplayers!
Our after-school program objective is to teach the fundamental skills for Baseball and Softball in a safe, fun, and inclusive atmosphere! Boys and girls grades 1 - 5 are invited to participate in this unique and exciting 90 minute class taught by our knowledgable coaches (Kindergarteners can participate only if they have an older sibling enrolled). Registration is offered by the 8-week quarter, 16-week semester, or individual trial day! Students do not need to bring any gloves, bats, or other playing equipment. All equipment is provided and is made of soft materials, which increases safety and allows students to fearlessly learn proper throwing, hitting, and catching techniques. We currently offer our program at the following schools:

Backyard Rule also hosts fundraiser tournaments, birthday parties, team building, and other special events! Send us an email to check availability and then book an event of your own! Pricing for up to 20 participants starts at $400. Our events do not include umpires, officials, or referees. Competitors make their own calls on safe and out, keep score, and work through any disputes as sportsmen by embodying the Backyard Rule.
